Who am I?

I hold a PhD from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and in particular, the Program for Robotics, Control and Intelligent Systems (EDRS), supervised by Prof. Francesco Mondada (Mobots group).

My work focused on: 1) modelling the collective dynamics of fish shoals (e.g., with machine learning), and 2) using robots to infiltrate groups of fish and create biohybrid groups in real time. This work was funded by the EPFL and the SNSF.

Undergraduate Studies

I hold a Dipl. Eng. degree from the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department (CEID), University of Patras, Greece, that was awarded to me in November 2017. I completed my thesis a year earlier in Inria Nancy Grand-Est (France) under the joint supervision of Prof. Ioannis Hatzilygeroudis from CEID and Dr. Jean-Baptiste Mouret from Inria. My thesis was entitled “Robot damage recovery with safety constraints” (see related publication here). Throughout this period I had the chance to work alongside some excellent researchers working with Inria’s Larsen team, namely; Dr. Konstantinos Chatzilygeroudis and Dr. Vassilis Vassiliades.

The thesis was funded by the ERC “Resibots” project.
